Crystal chakra bowls create a pure healing tone, each bowl being tuned to frequency of the different chakras, when we hear & feel the vibrations of these tones, our chakras & the cells & atoms in our body start to resonate with that sound, naturally balancing these energy centres to the higher frequency of the bowls.🌸🌷

This is a natural phenomenon known as entrainment & can leave us feeling deeply relaxed, replenished, & in balance again. Combined with the soothing & healing reiki energy, we can feel completely renewed

- Gamma (greater than 30Hz)
- BETA (13-30Hz)
- ALPHA (8-12 Hz)
- THETA (4-8 Hz)
- DELTA (less than 4 Hz)
Gamma Waves (30-100 Hz): relate to a state of focus, engagement, and performance. Triggered by activities such as learning, problem-solving, and critical thinking. This state can also be connected to compassion.
Beta Waves (12-30 Hz): relate to a state of alertness, focus, and mental processing created by our daily activities such as work, conversation, problem-solving, or during periods of stress. This state is also triggered by caffeine & nicotine & can result in feelings of anxiety.
Alpha Waves (8-12 Hz): create a relaxed but alert mental state, helpful for creativity and reflection. This can be produced just by closing our eyes, but especially through meditation, yoga, or deep breathing exercises, there is a gentle state of alertness & improved mood & performance.
Theta Waves (4-8 Hz): are associated with a deep relaxed mental state where daydreaming can occur. Sound healing can take us to a theta state & help us connect with deeper levels of the subconscious, intuition & healing. Also induced by deep meditation/ visualisation, lucid dreaming/ REM sleep and hypnosis.
Delta Waves (0.5-4 Hz): are associated with deep sleep, where recovery and restoration of mind and body & deeper healing can occur. Healing can occur on a cellular level, including processes such as tissue repair, muscle growth, and the release of growth hormones.

An example of a sound healing technique that affects brainwave function is the phenomenon of entrainment, whereby different frequencies can come into sympathetic resonance with the body, creating a state of coherence. This could be achieved by playing many different instruments. Crystal chakra bowls create a pure healing tone, each bowl being tuned to frequency of the different chakras, when we hear & feel the vibrations of these tones, our chakras & the cells & atoms in our body start to resonate with that sound, naturally balancing these energy centres to the higher frequency of the bowls. This natural phenomenon of entrainment can leave us feeling deeply relaxed, replenished, & in balance.
Another example is the frequency followed response, whereby the brain, when stimulated by a repeating rhythm, such as the beat of a drum, responds by emitting an electrical charge, known as a cortical evoked response. The brain will repeat these electrical cycles to match the rhythm of the drum (or other repeating stimulus). Studies have shown that different drumming patterns can lead to brainwave changes, for example, 4.5 beats per second, induce a theta, alpha & beta brainwave response.
Intention is important when working with sound healing, for both the practitioner & the client. This is because it will dramatically improve the healing potential of the sound therapy if the participants are focusing on the positive outcome they would like to achieve. This can then be focused on & enhanced by the deep brainwave states that can access deeper levels of subconscious healing and intuition. The law of attraction can also help as energy flows where attention goes, so by focusing on positive healing in the body & mind, we can help to create this outcome through the sound healing session, in any specific area relevant to the client.
Preparation for the practitioner is also vitally important to the sound healing outcome, as coming from a place of heart fullness, of heartfelt compassion, kindness & desire to create the best outcome for your client, will greatly enhance the healing effect of the treatment. Also, the practitioner, especially when just starting out, may feel a bit nervous, so it’s very helpful for them to focus on their breathing & being heartfelt, as a pose to being in a judgemental or criticising mindset. By focusing on breathing, connecting with the heart & the instruments, the practitioner can go deeper into a relaxed state & create a more powerful & enjoyable outcome for all involved. Cleansing the space and instruments can also help in preparing the space, which is done before & after every soundbath and reiki session.
